Medical Sector Grants 2025 – What Can You Get?

Grants for the medical sector in 2025 – Explore your funding opportunities!

Do you run a healthcare facility? In 2025, you can take advantage of numerous financial support programs aimed at enhancing healthcare services in Poland. The funds obtained can be successfully used to improve access to medical services and infrastructure, including patient management systems. Discover the opportunities available to you.

Why should you consider seeking funding?

The healthcare system suffers from a chronic lack of funds, making it crucial to explore various financial support options. These include European funds, Ministry of Health programs, and regional initiatives. Secured funding can be allocated to:

  • Implementing innovations in medical facilities (e.g., medical voicebots).
  • Enhancing service accessibility.
  • Upgrading existing infrastructure.

Additionally, financial support significantly reduces the need for personal investment in such projects. Later in this article, our experts will outline selected opportunities to secure funding for your healthcare initiatives.

KPO grants for Cardiology and General Hospitals

One notable opportunity is offered by the National Recovery Plan (Krajowy Program Odbudowy – KPO), an EU initiative designed to support member states’ economies after the COVID-19 pandemic. Under this program, billions of Polish zlotys will be directed to the healthcare sector.

In 2025, through the program for the development and modernization of high-specialty care centers and other healthcare entities, facilities will be able to apply for grants covering up to 100% of planned investments. This support targets cardiology departments and general hospitals. The call for proposals is expected to be announced between the first and second quarters of 2025. It is crucial to monitor official updates on the government website to avoid missing application deadlines.

Funds obtained through the EU Health Program can be allocated to:

  • Purchasing state-of-the-art equipment, such as diagnostic and therapeutic devices for patient care.
  • Modernizing infrastructure, including expansions, renovations, or adapting medical facilities to meet modern standards.
  • Organizational support, such as establishing the National Cardiology Network (KSK) under a new management model for this sector.

The total budget for the support program for cardiology and general hospitals amounts to 2.7 billion PLN. The funds must be utilized no later than the end of 2026.

Healthcare Infrastructure – Ambulatory Care Centers (AOS)

Specific opportunities are also available for ambulatory care centers (AOS). These facilities can apply for grants aimed at modernizing their infrastructure. The program’s primary goal is to improve access to specialists by reducing regional disparities and optimizing the economic and social costs of running AOS facilities. Ultimately, ambulatory care centers are expected to take on some of the hospital treatments that can be effectively managed in an AOS setting. The application process for this program will run from December 31, 2024, to January 31, 2025, so swift action is recommended. The maximum funding level is an impressive 100%.

Accessibility Plus for AOS

In late Q1 and early Q2 of 2025, the application process for the Accessibility Plus for AOS program will commence. This initiative, FERS.03.07, is managed by the Ministry of Health and aims to enhance access to Ambulatory Specialist Care in Poland. Funds obtained through this program can be allocated to:

  • Purchasing specialized medical equipment.
  • Acquiring and implementing systems to support individuals with specific needs within the AOS framework.
  • Eliminating architectural barriers (e.g., lack of ramps or elevators).

In practice, this means the funding can be used for investments such as purchasing software designed to streamline patient management in medical facilities, thereby reducing barriers to accessing specialists. The grant can cover up to 100% of the costs.

Healthcare Infrastructure – Primary Care Facilities (POZ)

In Q1 of 2025, applications will open for FEnIX.06.01, a program focused on primary healthcare facilities (POZ). This program aims to increase access to medical services across Poland and expand the range of services provided by POZ entities. These include diagnostics, outpatient treatments, and the introduction of coordinated care services, such as dietary consultations, physiotherapy, and health education programs. The funding level for this program can reach up to 100%, making it highly attractive. This is the second edition of the program; the first round was met with significant interest from medical facilities, and a similar level of engagement is expected in Q1 of 2025.

Regional programs for the medical sector

In addition to nationwide programs, it is worth exploring those implemented at the regional level. These programs often evolve dynamically, so we recommend checking available opportunities by consulting with local officials.

March 2025: FEO.9.3 Program in the Opole Voivodeship
With a budget of 47 million PLN, this program offers funding for:

  • Investments in infrastructure and equipment.
  • Implementation of POZ/AOS accessibility standards, including patient registration systems for clinics.
  • Projects supporting healthcare for the elderly and individuals with specific needs.

Q4 2025: FEMP.5.15 Program in the Małopolska Voivodeship
This program focuses on Day Medical Care Centers and targets healthcare institutions. A total of 32 million PLN will be distributed through this initiative.

Programs in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship
In 2025, several regional programs will be available, including:

  • Investments in healthcare infrastructure within regional ITI frameworks – focused on expanding ambulatory specialist care and medical rehabilitation (16 million PLN).
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) prevention for residents of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship (12 million PLN).
  • Osteoporosis detection programs for the region’s residents (3 million PLN).
  • Lung cancer prevention program for residents of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (24 million PLN).
  • Prevention of severe pneumonia in oncology patients in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship (5 million PLN).

If you operate a healthcare facility or other business in the medical sector, these opportunities are worth exploring. Significant funding for healthcare development is within reach.
