Easy Unified Communications in Practice

Implementing VoIP Internet telephony for customers with ISDN PRA subscriber exchanges results in significant savings – subscription costs can be reduced by up to 60%!

EUC (Easy Unified Communications) offers all the benefits of traditional landline telephony while gaining an edge with its advanced functionalities. In many cases, a physical telephone exchange can be replaced with cloud-based solutions maintained by the operator. This is particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises that lack specialists to manage a physical exchange. VoIP provides access to services not available from mobile operators and reserved for affluent customers in PSTN and ISDN services. Critical business functionalities include:

IVR, a service that generates automatic voice prompts, also using speech synthesis, allowing efficient management of incoming call traffic.

Call recording, forwarding, and queuing, as well as receiving calls directed to a landline number via a mobile phone, effectively creating a virtual office.

Video conferencing and teleconferencing, supported by a dedicated teleconference server (221 221 221). Participants need appropriate equipment, such as video phones or dedicated conference sets.

Hotline service, a caller dialing a nationwide 80x number is seamlessly redirected to a predefined landline or mobile number, an excellent solution for clients operating in multiple locations.

Regarding call quality: VoIP telephony is cost-effective mainly because it uses internet connections to transmit calls. Previously, there were concerns about the quality of such calls. However, with the advent of broadband internet access, issues like unnatural voice sound and call dropouts have been resolved. High call quality is now a standard among all operators.

Example of EUC (Easy Unified Communications) Implementation:

A Warsaw-based university has a pool of 500 numbers assigned by their previous operator. The client’s infrastructure reflects the setup in option 1, with services provided via ISDN PRA x 2 (60 simultaneous connections). The telephone exchange no longer has technical support from the manufacturer, posing a high risk of failure. The university has a fiber optic link with symmetrical internet access at 500 Mbps. The client decided to implement the solution presented in option 3, transferring their numbers to the EasyCall network at no additional cost. The client has high-quality PoE switches, simplifying the network infrastructure (powering IP phones from the LAN). EasyCall provides 250 IP phones, disconnecting and dismantling the old telephone exchange.

Solution Costs:

The previous solution was based on a contract with the operator signed many years ago, with subscriptions costing several thousand zlotys and monthly call charges nearing 2000 PLN. Analysis of billing rates with EasyCall shows monthly charges around 500 PLN. The new solution reduced the client’s monthly financial burden by nearly 2000 PLN. The client’s implementation cost was 1250 PLN for the installation fee.

Option 1.

The traditional solution based on ISDN (BRA, PRA) or PSTN offers high quality and stability but incurs high costs due to maintaining two independent networks. In case of telephone exchange failure, significant funds would be needed to purchase new equipment.

Option 2.

Allows retaining existing devices (e.g., system phones) and employee habits. Fully functional central devices enable VoIP services implementation with minimal costs.

Option 3.

EUC (Easy Unified Communications) is the optimal solution for small and medium-sized enterprises, simplifying network structure to the maximum. It ensures stable operation of all devices, enhances network security, minimizes equipment quantity, and reduces service costs. The functionalities support the client’s business operations.

3 Steps to Change:

Analysis of the current state, audit, and selection of services

Signing the contract, choosing or transferring the existing numbers

Delivering equipment and launching services…
