EasyCall as a company supporting the digital transformation of the medical sector in Poland – featured by Wprost

The Polish weekly magazine Wprost recognized our contribution to the digital transformation of the medical sector in Poland. The article highlighted the significance of ongoing changes in this field and emphasized Poland’s strong position compared to other European countries. Our implementation expert, Leszek Moszczyński, shared his insights with Wprost readers. Here is a brief summary of the article.

Digitization of Healthcare as a Fundamental shift in the patient–doctor–system relationship

Leszek Moszczyński emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to the digitization of healthcare. It is not just about implementing modern technologies — it is primarily about transforming the way we think about the relationship between the patient, the doctor, and the healthcare system. All three elements must work together harmoniously, and digitization should bring measurable benefits at every level. Implementation alone is not enough. There is always a human being on the other side, which is why it is essential to understand their needs, preferences, and concerns, and to design tools, prepare staff and patients for the changes, and properly execute the implementation process.

Technology is widely accepted in Poland

The quality of healthcare services in Poland is improving year by year, and technology has gained widespread acceptance. This is confirmed by our experts’ experience. We have encountered enthusiastic responses from both medical personnel and patients to implemented solutions, including medical voicebots. We know very well that technology should support staff, not replace them. Our expert, Leszek Moszczyński, drew attention to this important aspect in his remarks to Wprost journalists.

Poland performs exceptionally well compared to the entire European Union

Contrary to common belief, Poland performs very well compared to other EU member states. According to the European Commission’s report “Digital Decade 2024: eHealth Index Survey,” Poland achieved an impressive fifth place with a score of 90%. This means we outperformed 22 countries, including many considered more technologically advanced. The European average is 79%, with Denmark leading at 100%. The development of IT services and digital tools in Poland is steadily progressing — our implementations are a perfect example of this trend. Additional government initiatives such as the Internet Patient Account (IKP), e-prescriptions, and e-referrals also contribute significantly to this success.

What are the next steps in the medical sector’s AI transformation?

It is not yet time to declare final victory. The next steps in transforming the medical sector should focus on artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in designing tools that support diagnostic imaging (e.g., X-rays, mammography). Other key areas of development include telediagnostics, telerehabilitation, and telemonitoring. Funding is crucial for this progress, which is why the government should provide financial support through national programs aimed at modernizing Polish medical facilities, improving service quality, and increasing patient satisfaction. After all, patients should remain the main beneficiaries of these advancements.
