What is the Accessibility Plus for Health Project?
The Accessibility Plus for Health Program is part of the comprehensive government Accessibility Plus Program. Its primary goal is to increase access to goods, services, and participation in public and social life. It is aimed at people with special needs, including those with permanent or temporary mobility or perception limitations. The program’s mission is to support investments related to adapting public spaces to individuals with special needs, including people with visual impairments, hearing impairments, those with strollers or heavy luggage, those with physical weaknesses, manual and cognitive difficulties, or pregnant women. The goal is to ensure that every Polish citizen has equal access to healthcare, education, digitization, architecture, transportation, and services. The part of the program we’re discussing focuses specifically on healthcare.
Accessibility Plus for AOS Program – What Can the Funds Be Used For?
Under the Accessibility Plus for AOS, the Ministry of Health plans to allocate approximately 388 million PLN to improve accessibility to medical facilities. These funds come from European Funds. According to the program’s guidelines for Ambulatory Specialist Care facilities, support will cover around 362 units (including Primary Healthcare facilities and hospitals), with the maximum grant amount being 900,000 PLN and the minimum 150,000 PLN. There is certainly something to strive for. Entities with a signed contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ) in the field of AOS can apply for grants to fund projects that support digital, architectural, and informational-communication accessibility. The funds can be used for infrastructure such as ramps, elevators, etc., as well as for IT systems that facilitate remote patient service.
When is the Application Period?
It’s worth staying alert, as the application period will begin in 2024. The Accessibility Plus for Health project will be implemented until October 31, 2028. If you have any doubts, it’s advisable to check the information provided on the government program’s website or consult a specialist.
Can a Patient Registration Program Be Funded by the Grant?
The Accessibility Plus for AOS guidelines indicate that the obtained funds can be spent on IT systems. This means that these funds can be used to purchase and implement a patient registration program in your clinic. Thanks to this, patients will have equal access to booking appointments with doctors. Disabilities or difficulties, such as caring for a small child, will not be an obstacle. At EasyCall, we specialize in designing and implementing electronic patient registration systems. Based on an analysis of your facility’s needs, we will prepare a tailored solution. Want to know more? Contact our representative.
